Collingtree Flood Risk

Collingtree and Motorway Junction 15 at Risk From Flooding

Collingtree Church

As investigation of the four Option Areas for further housing growth around Northampton gets under way - including the two options involving Collingtree - it is useful that as many people as possible are aware of the Flood Risk in parts of Collingtree and Grange Park. Any further loss of the Flood Plan would obviously worsen the risk. Attached is the current Environment Agency Map of this area showing the level of risk ( which of course is born out by recent flooding in Collingtree Park. Note in particular the acknowledged risk around Junction 15.

These maps are now being updated by the EA under pressure from the Insurance companies to include the effect of uncleared drains.

Collingtree Aerial PhotoThe Flood Risk objections are in addition to the risks of Landslip- Traffic Congestion- increasing Road Noise and further loss of Air Quality and are all objections that can be made if and when specific large scale Development proposals are lodged for this area
