“Police Refuse to Investigate Developers who caused the 1998 Easter Floods in St. James”

6th April 2008: John Goodall has finally tracked down the Developers who were responsible for the major flooding in Northampton that resulted in the death of a St. James resident. Read what John has to say:

The Assistant Chief Constable of Northampton, D. Talbot, has just refused to investigate Developers who, without Land Drainage consent, raised water levels through St. James 1.4 metres above approved design standards causing a major flood disaster and loss of life.

The development works that they carried out for St. James Retail Parks breached contractual obligations that the County Council had with the Northampton Development Corporation in the 1980’s for safe water levels in St. James.

The Assistant Chief Constable has also refused to investigate £millions that were provided by the Development Corporation, but were not spent on Northampton’s drainage works.

The town is still at serious risk from the unlawful drainage works and breaches of contract.
